This is another to meet the Amazon summer challenge. Nothing in this category really stood out. I’ve read this author before and this is only like 50 pages. These two are decades apart but somehow are communicating through their radios and they have to help each other I guess.

Ok so we start in 1943 England.

My estimated reading time keeps going up. I don’t think that’s how it’s supposed to work. Maybe I’m just sleepy.

Um wow what just happened. Some ship was just attacked and Lily heard it all but was unable to respond. All she could do was listen as it happened.

So the guy she heard was from 2023. So eighty years after her time. Interesting. Also interesting that she’s getting her uncle to deliver a message to the guy.

Of course he’s Texan. Lol. Why not?

Gosh like you know even if he managed to save his ship that this would have to end sad because of the time difference thing, but geez. I’m glad she had a full and what looked like happy life. I wish she would have left him something else to find. Or that she made it to like over a hundred to actually meet him in person. But alas not a sci-fi story just weird technology messing with radio signals.

We move right along to Dax’s commander. There’s actually a book series wise between these two so I didn’t realize that timeline they were consecutive. So commander dude waited too long to get a mate. He’s sent home and held waiting for execution. His matched mate transports to Dax and Sarah and they help her into the prison so she can cure him. We have to have a twist though. Some asshole is mad he didn’t mate his daughter so he tries to sabotage the relationship. On we go.

I wonder if jerkface drugged him on the battleship too. So he could force the issue of mating his daughter.

And again with the drugging him. Although Tiffani has a severely bad reaction to the drug later. I’m not sure how she avoids a reaction now.

God I hate that the jerk face Engel made Tiffani feel this way. Like pretty much all the earth girls have emotional trauma because earth dudes are dicks you are really not helping this.

I want to know what that last drug he used on her was. I’m surprised Deek lasted so long before he busted into the room to save his mate. They made up and are going to live happily ever after. Although I know she won’t be content to stay idle. I wonder what she’ll do especially since they’re going to keep the cuffs and can’t be apart.

Ah yes. This is where she’s going to be a solider but gets processed as a bride. She refuses the match and goes to fight instead. She’s matched to an Atlan facing the fever. He goes to claim her only her brother gets taken during this meeting. She gives up her position as solider to be a bride in order to save her brother from the Hive. Well let’s go.

I forgot about how poetic Dax was while he was being prepped for testing. He wants a woman who will let him sleep with his head pillowed on her thigh so he can be close to her scent and dream about fucking her again. Yep Dax that’s every girls dream.

Well now I want to know Dr. Melissa Rone’s story. Why don’t we get to know how she got matched to her mates?

Yeah you may be slightly delusional from the fever dude if you think your warrior bride will just roll over and take care of the children once you’re mated.

Oh yes. The time when they are both ignorant of the fact that she’s severely injured while trying to fly this ship that she has no experience flying.

Calm down. Bitch I am calm back off. I’m not the one who just about went beast in the small cockpit of this enemy space ship that I’m trying to fly to save your ass. Lol. I love our sassy earth female mates.

Hmm. I’m glad she changes her mind at the end. I’m sure they’ll train up recruits together to keep others from losing their lives on the front lines. We get to check in with this couple in later books.

Now we go back to prince Nial. We left him on the ship having been integrated with Hive tech and disowned by his father oh and his bride was denied transport. Jessica was wrongly accused of a crime and when she’s denied transport she’s let go and decides to hunt down those that framed her.

That was pretty much what I remembered. She gets match with prince Nial. His dick of a dad refuses her transport. She tracks down the guys that framed her. Nial and Ander come to earth to claim her. They have to detour to the Colony because his dad restricted his transport. She promises the warriors that she’ll get them mates. His dad is killed and he has to fight to claim his right to the throne. Although fight is a bit generous. He just sorta breaks the guys throat like immediately and without effort. Then they claim her in the arena. Now they get to live happily ever after.

Moving along we skip Nial’s story for now. We get our first Viken story. The planet is divided each section lead by one of the triplet princes. The advisors sorta trick them into taking a mate together to unite the planet.

Ah right. She’s running away from her abusive fiancé. He’s also probably a mob boss and she wouldn’t have lasted very long anyway.

She never told her mates why she became a bride. Also I thought you had to serve the coalition for a certain time period before you could request a bride. We got rid of the immediate threat of the regent guys right hand man who wanted power. They know they’ll have to deal with others who want to go back to the old ways and not unite but that’s a fight for another day. They are having a little girl who will one day rule the planet.

This is for the kindle summer reading challenge. We’ve got man of the year and the youngest mayor who wants to be governor. There’s an incumbent in his way who has one weakness a reformed wild child estranged daughter. So of course our guy will fall in love with her.

Lol. I’m your chief of staff and I’ve been away for weeks and you’re telling me the most vital piece of information I need to know is that your new event planner is trying to set you up. Lol.

Hahaha yes. Hire Addie’s friend as your campaign manager. This will be great.

Well I would have liked more of Rosalie as the campaign manager. I’m glad he didn’t run for governor. Instead he ran for senate. Based on the epilogue it seems like he got it. I don’t know. I’m not sure it’s one I’d pick on my own to read but it was enjoyable.

Next in my chronological read through of the interstellar brides. Hannah is running away from her life and gets mated to Zane and Dare. I think this is the one where one is afraid of his darker desires being too much for her so they go visit another warrior who’s mating she witnessed in the dream thing. We also get the princeling who can’t follow orders and takes too many risks.

Oh that’s right it was because her brother owed some bad people money that she was doing this. Seems a poor reason to go to a completely different planet

Wait Egara is only in her twenties. That doesn’t seem right for her already being widowed.

Aww. No don’t doubt yourself or the match. Zane’s just being a dumb butt. He has forgotten that the mating protocol knows his desires and knows you can handle them. Give him a chance to get his head out of his butt.

Aww. He finally let himself be himself around her and she loved him. Dare gets taken by the Hive which I think may have been orchestrated by that asshole Harbert or whatever that Zane killed for touching Hannah. I’m a bit confused how she still had a bruise when those regen things heal like everything. What ever. We end this one with her claiming. We don’t get to know if she’s pregnant. I do wonder about that. They are allowed to have her for thirty days then she can choose a new mate if she wants. However like no one uses protection. What if she gets pregnant but doesn’t want to stay with those mates?

Next. We have our girl going off planet to wait until this trial she’s testifying at because everyone involved has been disappearing or ending up dead. We also get another planet. They aren’t mentioned a lot on the front lines, so I’m not sure what they do for the coalition. They are also very into adornment and toys. Time also runs differently on this planet than like any other one.

Poor Eva. She really isn’t a criminal and Egara isn’t this much of a bitch. She just loves the warriors and wants them happy. She’s just frustrated others aren’t seeing this and volunteering.

Oh councilor Roark. He gets a mate later.

I want Goran to get a mate too.

Like he makes it seem like he had it so bad. One day without her. It was weeks of time for her. I’m glad she went back. Also I’m impressed with warden Egara. Her bride program is being used for all sorts of subterfuge here early on. A spy now someone in witness protection. She really needs some good press about now. Also, Eva’s pregnant. So exciting.

Next we have the newly admitted earth sending brides. At this point only criminals are going. Also, the us government doubts the validity of the aliens claims that earth is in danger. So obvi they send some poor female spy up there to find out the truth and get some of the weapons they are being denied. Yeah great idea guys.

Oh yes guys I think this sounds like a splendid plan. He’s currently unconscious let’s test him for an interstellar bride. He won’t know a thing until his mate is here. Then he’ll be too busy fucking her to care that we went behind his back and did this.

Oh Lady Egara. I so want to know how you got to the Prillion’s before first contact. Also, I want her to have a new happily ever after with new mates since she lost hers.

Like I want to be a bride but I’m not some bad ass chick like these girls going up. Give me a library and a comfy chair to curl up in and I’m a happy camper. I’m not sure about leading or helping out with this battle.

I forgot how abruptly some of these end. I like she learned that and called the earth leaders on their shit and learned to love her mates. Then it just ended at the end of their claiming. I’m still not quite sure what her role is on the ship but whatever I still enjoyed it.

Series: Interstellar Brides: The Virgins #0

The book I’m reading hasn’t caught my attention so Grace recently had a book come out. Now I kinda want to do a chronological reread of the series. We start with the virgins series prequel.

Ah yes it’s 1885. We are also in the Montana territory.

So, I never get to find out what trials Elizabeth puts Thorn through before he claims her. Also it would have been kinda cool if we got her reaction to going to another planet. I know in dream sharing they can only do what they’ve done in the real world. Since she’d been married they could go all the way. However, in the other virgins books they claim in the order of three. Maddox definitely didn’t do that. He never even took her mouth or ass. So that’s a bit confusing. Overall still a decent read.
