Ok so this one claims to be just a novella and it stays with the virgins series. He is scarred from his time fighting with the Hive and fears his marked mate will reject him so he blindfolds her to seduce her. We all know earth females aren’t like that and she’d love him despite or maybe because of his scars. Anyway let’s go.

I think this is the first one we don’t start with a sexy dream. And the only one since interstellar brides came to earth that we didn’t start with a testing.

A little continuity error there. She felt the carpet beneath her knees but then slipped her dress off and stepped back.

And now I need a book about Quinn finding his marked mate.

Wait Lexi is staring at the mark on her palm? Her mark isn’t on her palm. It’s on her side. Hmm. This one seems to have some continuity issues.

Also, from the last book men aren’t allowed in the females rooms. It’s forbidden. So how can he meet her in her room?

Hmm. There were lots of issues with this one but I ultimately like their story.

Ok I remember the virgins series in general but off the top of my head I don’t remember a lot of specifics. I’m sure once I read the description or start reading I’ll remember more. This is the first one in present day. The virgins with the birthmarks and the dream sharing.

Please hold. I thought she was still strapped to the table. How was she able to move her hands to cover where her birthmark is?

Of course he creeps you out he’s not your marked mate. It’s super rare to meet your marked mate so he’s hoping you’ll settle for him. Don’t fall for it girl. Hold strong.

At least the girls are willing to speak up and ask questions to alleviate their fears I’m not sure I’d feel brave enough to ask these questions.

Lol yeah they want to prove their bedroom skills to a bunch of virgins who have no idea what to expect in the bedroom. Sounds like a bit of an iffy plan to me.

I need to keep a list of who I want stories for because now I want a Zakariah love story.

Lol yeah you gotta beware those human mates. They are super protective and will get mad at you if you put yourself in harms way.

My only problem with this is that like all other races train their mates asses before taking them. Also none of the other brides are virgins so they know what to expect. The Everians just claim their Virgin asses like right out of the gate. I have no experience in this but based on what I’ve read that doesn’t sound like it’d be pleasurable.

I think this is the first time we mention that their marks have to touch during the claiming. I don’t remember how they get theirs to touch due to the unusual placement.

I’m confused. He just said he wouldn’t claim her until she was begging for him and in love with him, but then he turns around and is just like “yeah so tomorrow I’ll claim you, you cool with that?” Doesn’t that not let the begging and love you wanted come into play?

I don’t quite understand why she couldn’t be at the fight. I did like the three years later epilogue though that was a nice touch. Getting to see a warrior interact with his child. It’s was good but I’m wondering if I need a bit of a break from the brides. I realized I’ve never read this many this close together before.

That was actually pretty good considering how short it was. It gave like just the right amount of backstory while staying present. Although I think if it didn’t have the epilogue it wouldn’t have been as good.

Last one in this series. We’ve got our guy going to claim his wayward wife. I’m not quite sure why they separated just that she started sleeping around when he started pretending to sleep around and things got way out of hand. I think he actually loves her.

Oh dear this whole thing is going to end up being a big misunderstanding isn’t it? She overheard him shooting off that women are interchangeable and took it to heart. I bet that’s not what he meant.

Good grief you’re cocky dude. I’m pretty sure it isn’t going to be that easy.

Randy old goat. Lol. Wesley just imagined their future and thinks they’ll still be making mischief in their dotage.

Finally. Edwin finally told Elenor that he loves her. I think they’ll be ok for the rest of the book now. We just have to get the other three couples all blissful at the same time.

So now two out of the four have been punished for this little adventure the night before the wedding.

I really like that Wesley isn’t upset that she could have gotten hurt or that she snuck out but that she didn’t include him.

So we only get three punishments tonight. Since Elenor is pregnant she’s not getting spankings. Instead she’ll have orgasm denial for like three days.

I’m a countess now, they’ll respect me. Or you’ll stab them with a fork. Exactly. Lol. Gotta love a girl who goes against social conventions.

I have to wonder if that was really what he was thinking right there. I’m pretty sure his guy brain just said oh she wants my help to get naked. Yes ma’am I’m all over that. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t thinking that this physical intimacy would help later when they had to have difficult conversations.

I mean at least we finally get this huge blow up. I mean the final chapter seems a bit late but at least it’s finally happening. She needs to rail at him and get this all out. At least it won’t be some like peaceful we came to an agreement thing. She set to rip him a new on right now.

The things you learn from historical fiction. Like three-penny upright is a prostitute. Good language expansion right there. Reasons to read. Learning new insults.

This is even better. She’s thrown things at his head and is currently trying to bite him. This is fantastic. Yes I know I have issues. I should probably see someone about them.

Well that was good I like that the epilogue touched back with everyone. I do feel though like their story ended rather abruptly in the last chapter. I hope she has a girl first that way the gossipmongers can keep tongue wagging about why they reconciled to get an heir.

Ouran High School Host Club Volume 9

We are getting close to the end of which episodes made it into the show. This one has Tamaki starting the host club and having to convince the other members to join him.

That one was in the show. The twins make Tamaki tell them apart and then they’ll join the club. He can’t do it but he admits that and they find it refreshing so they join the host club.

Oh I like the pirates. I don’t remember this from the show.

I don’t remember this princess girl who Tamaki is doting on that kinda looks like his mom. I think she’s definitely spoiled and a brat.

That was a bit more emotional. Her brother was overwhelmed with taking over as king that he wasn’t paying her as much attention. Tamaki and Haruhi had a moment remembering their mothers and we find out why she wanted to come to Ouran. She wants to be a lawyer like her mom and knew she’d get a good scholarship if she keeps her grades up.

Ok that one was like super cute. Tamaki got sick for the first time because he’s feeling conflicted about his feelings for Haruhi are changing and he wants to kiss her but still sees himself as her father.

I liked this one. It was cute and had a few that weren’t in the show which was nice. I liked this one.

The Trouble with True Love

It’s Clara’s turn now. She’s accepted in society now that her grandfather has acknowledged her and her sister is a duchess, but she is painfully shy. She’s taken over the Lady Truelove column in their paper only she’s never had to deal with any of these problems so is stumped as to how to give advice. Until she hears a gentleman going on about the art of honorable jilting. Then she uses him in the column (I’m guessing not in a nice way). He’s infuriated until they are forced to work together and she turns his world upside down.

Wow Rex that wasn’t the most flattering description you could have given of her. You are a pretty terrible person right now.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about Rex. I mean he knew he wouldn’t be able to go through with the blackmail and I’m pretty sure he’s supporting his mother not being a total reprobate.

Oh boy this is going to be interesting. Rex agreed to write the Lady Truelove column, if she increases the pay, pays it all up front and tolerated him courting her. Yeah there is no way this could all go terribly wrong.

So I totally saw her turning him down when he proposed out of obligation. It was the right thing to do though. It put him in his place. I liked this one. I don’t think I’ve read anything by this author I haven’t liked yet.

It’s Anghar’s turn. We met him in the other series. He was part of a recon team but was contaminated. I guess now he gets to find love.

That was interesting. I’m glad Angh found love. This one wasn’t matched through the brides program. How does that work? If you get tested, don’t get matched but find your mate, do you get pulled from the bride program? Do you have to notify anyone? I want to know! The IC commander chick was like crazy seriously you do not tease these alpha males with harming their mates. You are lucky he didn’t kill you for that threat. Although I think she knew that Kira was in love with him and just holding back because of her obligations. I kind of want to know the commanders story. Did she lose love for obligation? Is that why she’s sympathetic to Kira’s situation? It was still pretty good though.

CJ got caught for insider trading and had to choose jail or become a bride. She thought she’d go spend the required time, ditch her match and return to earth a rich woman. Yeah that was a bit of an awakening. She gets mated to Rez, who has just recently been caught by the Hive traitor and his beast suppressed. He doesn’t feel worthy of a mate.

Wow we solved that super early on. CJ was able to sass him enough that his beast came back because he wasn’t gonna take that crap. So, what else is going to happen?

The first baby was born on the colony. A little girl, she’s gonna get away with everything and no males her age will even be able to breath the same air as her.

That went a weird way that I didn’t see coming. So the Hive are trying to breed more Hive which is just sort of terrifying. They get kidnapped by the Hive because they think she’s pregnant with a Hive baby and they will take it and keep breeding them. They get away and she had twins. Everyone was stunned by that because they couldn’t see her daughter behind her son. Rez thinks his son already knew his job as protector and was shielding his little sister like a good Atlan. I enjoyed this one.

I’m pausing my other books to read this real quick. This the the interstellar brides. This one is from the colony, the planet where the infected soldiers are sent to live out their days. In this one we have a Hunter and his mark awakens while he’s hunting the hive that have invaded his new home. Only problem, Lindsey didn’t sign up for a mate. She went on a covert mission to save her son.

This was not my favorite. First we don’t address that Evarian mates are typically virgins and I wish we had some like acceptance thing on his part for that. Then she’s so, indecisive is the wrong word, but it’s like she’s all for their budding relationship knowing she’ll go back to earth in a day. Also, how did he know about what was going on in order to know to go to earth. Who told him and why was she not upset about that? Meh. I like her other books enough to keep reading them though.

Ok so this one is actually like four more down on the list, but in the last one we talk about the brides that came back to earth and mention this one from Trion that got sent back in the middle of a battle. So I’m going off script and going to read this one next. I seem to recall not liking this one as much as the others.

Ah yes Roark’s turn.

Yeah that has to be really weird. You can understand all languages but it’s kinda like Siri. You get the robotic straightforward words not the nuances and slang you’d have a better grasp of by actually learning the language.

I’m trying to remember the time difference. If it’s been three days for him that’s like four months for her I think.

That thinking would be great if she was actually on Trion. However she’s on earth and thinks you’re dead.

And I’m totally a nerd. I just recalculated the thirteen months into weeks to see if the 11 weeks per two days thing was right. In case you were wondering yes the math works.

I forgot someone on earth tried to kill them. I’m pretty sure it’s her prick of an ex but it seems a bit bold for him.

These all seem to be bookended with sex. The dream at the beginning and their match ravishing them at the end. I hope they get the girl they want. I think Miranda gets a mate later on. Isn’t it her that gets tired of waiting on the doctor dude to stop being content as fuck buddies and to claim her so she goes through the brides program and gets mated to some Prillion. I’ll just have to keep reading to find out I guess.
