Well that lady was crazy. Like I understand that the shows I watch aren’t real. She was so insistent that Lacey was an actual vampire rather than playing one on tv.

Hmm. I think this just wasn’t what I wanted right now. I’m not completely on board with the love at first sight thing. I mean ok with paranormal romances but contemporary ones it seems a bit of a stretch. Then I wanted like an epilogue or something to round it out at the end. I only have one more left in this series so I’ll go ahead and finish it.

So this one was set before some of the other novellas. Cassie decided she wanted a bachelorette party/honeymoon/gender reveal party like all in one. It was a disaster but really she was just upset that she thought she wouldn’t get to be crazy anymore after she has the baby. Well we know that’s not true and Thatch brought her back from that crazy idea.

So this has been showing up more and more in my Facebook ads and I already own it so I figured I’d give it a try. It’s an enemies to lovers trope. I think she was some sort of celebrity. I don’t know we’ll see.

Um wow that was a bit obvious. Although I do think Sadie’s boy toy knows who it is already and told Sadie. So that should be interesting later.

Welp now Callin knows that his mystery texter is Rainbow Dash. I wonder how he’s gonna play this.

Yes. She watches Lucifer!!

Um what the hell just happened. I’m pretty sure he didn’t just knock himself out so who the f was in her apartment.

Oh wow we have six months later and asshole still hasn’t fixed this mess he made. Oh dear. I’m a bit unsure about this ending now.

I can’t wait for that. Sadie’s guy is the son of this company merger her parents are pushing. It’s gonna be awesome when they find out.

Um actually now it’s too late because of the car accident she just got in.

I’m not sure about the ending. I kinda wanted a bit more about where they go from here. Or at least her telling him that she was done with acting and pursuing art. I did like the overwhelming amount of my little pony stuff in her hospital room to apologize. I’m a bit intrigued by the next one about Sadie and Fleetwood. I’ll think about it.

Highland Captive

I’m skipping around again. Back to the highlands. Aimil is captured by a feuding clan. She should fear for her life and her virtue, but finds her captor alluring and finds her desire for him growing. Seems fairly straight forward.

He better ride quickly. If her brother dies I’m not going to be happy.

I love her sass and her horse right now. I can’t wait until he finds out she’s a girl.

Ok that was kind of a jerk move. Either give me your horse or yourself, but really if you give me yourself I’m still gonna try to win over your horse too. I’m not sure I can like Parlan right now.

Ok Parlan may be alright after all. So obviously he just bed her, but afterwards once she was asleep he went to her brother. He wanted to know more about her betrothal and if there was a way to break it. As he was leaving though he said he’d marry her then if that was the only way to keep her out of Rory’s hands.

Oh Aimil, no one should have to go through what you are going through right now. Although now I’m super curious how old was her mom? How old is Rory? Like we know how old Parlan and her brother are but um based on what’s being said Rory is like old enough to be your dad. I don’t think your dad knows what happened to your mom. Also, there is still a lot of book left. I’m not sure about this.

Oh girl that was so the wrong thing to say. You’ll be lucky if Parlan doesn’t murder you. He was slightly sympathetic to you before but you struck his pregnant wife. Why would you say that when you were trying to blame Aimil for tossing your sorry but in the manure pile anyway?

Lol yes. I’m going to go for a ride and hopefully shake some sense into this baby and remind him that babies are supposed to come out at some point. I feel like this isn’t a good idea.

Well I saw that coming from a mile away.

I really enjoyed this one. I do wish they had talked about their feelings a bit earlier but still overall it was good. I really like this author’s writing style. I’m glad I brought a few more of her books with me while on vacation this next week or so.

Nobody’s Hero

Now to get more of Adam and Karla’s story. If I remember right, we pick up like right after the epilogue of book one. So, Adam is recovering from the cougar attack. He still views Karla as that sixteen year old girl that he met over nine years ago, but she’s all woman now and she wants him as more than just a father figure. He has some secrets we’ll have to work through as well before we can get them happily coupled.

Yeah Adam, I think you’ve missed the memos where she wouldn’t regret anything she did with you or you could do to her.

This is what I like about these books. They don’t avoid the hard topics they just drag you through them and you have to learn to cope. I forgot that this is how Damien finds Savi again. She’s his niece’s counselor after her rape. She’s going to be a great person to help Theresa.

Um that would be you are pregnant Karla. Catch up with the rest of us.

Of course she’s pregnant. I’m glad they figured that out. I’m not sure I would have caved that easily to believe that he loved her and wanted to be with her even without the baby. Then we set up the next book with Savi coming to Damien after her father found and beat her. I thought Angie already had the job at the Italian restaurant by now but apparently not. Anyway. I still enjoyed this one, but if I remember right I liked Savi’s story best even though it’s more emotionally raw than the others.

Nobody’s Angel

Next up is the first full book. We start with Marc. He saves a girl from an abusive Dom. She ends up turning over his upside down. Plus his SAR partner seems to think she’s his girl.

It’s just so sweet that each of the guys doesn’t think he’s a hero but everyone around him believes that his actions were brave and they respect him for it.

See that’s just not good. His ex wife had a restraining order on him and it didn’t help her. This is not a good sign dude. This is a sign you have a problem and should have already been locked up.

That took me longer to get through than I thought it would. It was still good like the first time I read it but I think I just had a lot more going on. I like how these aren’t truly stand alone stories the others are all intertwined within each story. So while this focused mostly on Marc and Angel, we also get a lot of Karla and Adam, a bit of Damien and some of Luke and Cassie too. I also like how the BDSM scenes are written by this author. Anyway. I’ll keep reading through now that I have the next two after the first three.

So I started this series awhile ago. I enjoyed it even if it is a bit on the darker side. Now I have the rest of the series I’m gonna do a reread since they’re kinda connected. So, here we begin. This is how three men find each other and try to gain some of their normal life back.

We start with Adam in 2002 right after his wife died of cancer.

Aww poor Karla. It’s just really bad timing and you know your age.

Now on to Damian in 2003.

Savi’s story is probably the one I remember the most about. I just hurt so bad for her. She’s so strong but also makes me want to cry.

Still in 2003 but now in Aspen to catch up with Marc.

Ok so the guys all went to fight overseas in the same unit. One of their team died, Damien lost his foot and Doc got a collapsed lung. They make it back though. We save Damien from committing suicide and open a fetish club in Denver. In 2011 they hire Karla as their club singer. She just lost her brother in a bike accident two months earlier. Marc is dealing with something too but we don’t know what right now. Anyway that gets you all caught up and me ready to start book one.

Ok woah. This became soap opera drama super quick. Like no way I suspected her. Also who did she take out to get that position. Ok I have to keep reading. Things just got juicy.

What is happening right now!?

Hmm. Well I liked that. I’m not sure about the next one though. I think the only thing I maybe had issue with was that most of the action all happened at the very end.

I’ve been having trouble finding a book to keep my attention. This just came out today. Let’s see if this can keep me hooked. We are going back to the colony.

Ok I liked this one except for one part. At the end of one chapter we had them going to meet Hellion because he was on the Colony for them, but then we start the next chapter with them just chilling and no intention of seeing Hellion. Then I’m super confused about what we learned from that nexus unit. The hive are protecting them? I feel like I was left hanging about that. The way to save them there at the end seemed a bit rushed or anticlimactic. Like it was just we don’t want them to die so here’s some random solution that doesn’t make sense nor did we have time to actually discover it.

Wait if she’s broke how is she going to win him at the auction? I’m confused.

Well that’s one way to claim your girl. He just sauntered up tossed her over his shoulder and walked out. She doesn’t have the money but I betcha he’ll pay for it.

Well that was pretty good. I like that she wanted to stand on her own two feet. I wish it had a bit more after they came to an agreement so we could see what that looked like. I kinda want to read about the other brothers now too.
